for ages 1 ½ to 3 years Can
you make a sound like an elephant? Or
hop up and down like a bunny?
Kindermusik Our Time encourages your child to uncover an engaging
musical world while building confidence, self-control and communication
skills. Just as a young kangaroo
bounds away and then back to the security of its mother’s pouch, Our Time
classes are designed to encourage young children to try new activities
independently while at the same time they can be confident that the security
of their special adult’s lap is still nearby.
Singing, imitating sounds, rhyming and object exploration help foster
language skills. Creative to various
musical “moods” develops a sense of balance, timing and spatial
awareness. And listening and
turn-taking activities encourage blossoming social skills. Our
Time classes are 45-minute classes once a week, designed for children to
participate with a parent, grandparent, or other adult caregiver. This winter’s unit is Fiddle Dee Dee. We'll
meet many animal characters this semester in our books, activities, and
songs—horses, pigs, cows, mice, Rover Dog, Baby Cat, and Mama Duck and her
ducklings. With silly, bumpy lap bounces we'll help your child develop rhythm
while further developing his ever-emerging language skills. Music this
semester emphasizes string instruments, and you can bring home the violin,
cello, and orchestra sounds to help your toddler stay a happy and engaged
learner at home, too. At Home Materials: j Double CD j Fiddlesticks—bright striped rhythm sticks
with an interesting shaker sound j Literature books—Animal
Serenade—we’ll visit animal friends, with a special song for each of them This Little Piggy Played the Fiddle—in
a twist on the familiar Mother
Goose toe-tickling rhyme, these piggies fiddle, drum, whistle,
hum and roll their way home j Family activity book j Rover’s doghouse
